Grab a plate and join us for a weekend dedicated to celebrating the quality cuts that make up the enticing charcuterie board that is James St. Our culinary clan are stepping onto the street to bring you a community feast of food, wine and a mighty fine time on Saturday 27 + Sunday 28 July 2024

Our neighbourhood is certainly spoilt for choice when it comes to Queensland’s (and we think Australia’s) most celebrated and awarded restaurants and venues. Every year in July, this impressive roster of chefs, restaurateurs, bartenders and baristas join forces to make our food fantasies a reality.

How does it work? JSFWT is split in two parts:

The prelude: TRAIL DAYS – Saturday 27 July + Sunday 28 July 2024

Two delicious days of programming, when the experts step into action with in-venue events including champagne lunches, one-off Middle Eastern feasts, wine tastings, aperitivo hours and limited-edition menu items in and around James St venues. Heads up, some activities are ticketed, some are available first-come-first serve and some are open for you to turn up and dig in.

The main event: MARKET DAY – Sunday 28 July 2024

Our fête champêtre, Market Day sees over 7,500 squares metres of James Street closed to traffic and transformed into an open-air celebration of food and drink by the street’s leading venues. Swapping bars and kitchens for gourmet market stalls, James St’s beloved restaurants are serving fare with flair and drinks with a spin to shake up the afternoon. Market Day is a tall cocktail of great food and company with live music, DJs, children’s activities and free entry, making this an occasion for all to enjoy.
