The Main Course is the big one, James St Food + Wine Trail’s street-wide feast of stalls, sips and snacks, served across the precinct for one day only.
But a proper feast never stops at one course.
The Sides are everything happening around it, from lunches long and short to guided tastings, hands-on workshops and rooftop tours.
Some require a booking, some reward a wander, all are worth making room for. Explore the full line-up below.
Gourmet Traveller Express Lunches
Three venues, three express ways into the Trail. ESSA, Hellenika and Mosconi are each serving a special one-day lunch offer, from woodfired Moreton Bay bug to seven-course Greek feasting and ragu pappardelle slow cooked to perfection.

Harveys Long Lunch
Settle in at Harveys for a five-course degustation lunch of French-inspired dishes led by owner and Head Chef PJ McMillan. Across the menu, expect the likes of crab and Comté tart, Wollemi duck breast with parsnips and quince frangipane tart, with the option to add matched wines by the glass.

Cru Cellar Shaw + Smith Wine Tasting
Cru Cellar and Shaw + Smith join forces for a free guided tasting of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Shiraz, spotlighting the craft behind every pour. The first 30 customers to purchase a bottle of wine will receive an EAU so handy wine bag courtesy of EAU Bags.

Mud Australia x Lawn Bowls Glassware Workshop
Mud Australia hosts Lawn Bowls founder Finn O’Sullivan for a hands-on glass-fusing workshop, where guests will create their own glass still life inspired by seasonal produce and blooms. Extending the Trail from plate to tabletop, the two-hour sessions bring together food, form and material craft in a workshop made for the design-inclined diner.

The Calile Hotel Rooftop Tours
Head to level seven for a 45-minute tour of The Calile Rooftop Garden with Future Wild, where edible details are grown high above James St before making their way downstairs to the Lobby Bar kitchen. Part rooftop retreat, part working garden, this is a rare look at the produce-led thinking behind The Calile’s food and drink offering.
