Silk Laundry’s James St boutique will be exhibiting NEIGHBOURHOOD, a solo show by Brisbane artist Molly Stephenson for a limited time.  

Molly is an American-Australian artist who specialises in oil painting, and her work has been collected across Australia and the USA, exhibited in group shows including Paradise Gloss at Side Gallery, and selected as a finalist in the 2025 Swell Art Prize. Following a number of studies, Molly paints her works usually in one sitting using the alla prima technique to keep the brushstrokes instinctive. 

Focusing on New Farm and surrounding suburbs, Molly will zero in on the beautiful lands of the Jagera and Turrbal peoples and celebrate the simple details that bring a sense of place and community to daily life.
