Winter has arrived on James St, and with it, a fresh round of things to eat, drink and book in for.
ESSA GOES FOR SECONDS
In their words, the first Pici Party was so much fun we're doing it all over again. This time though the thick, hand-rolled pasta will be accompanied by the woodland king of winter: truffles!

Gelato Messina is giving dessert lovers a reason to stay in with its latest special: a bake-at-home cookie pie filled with Biscoff Crumb-infused dulce de leche and topped with Biscoff Crumb. GERARD’S SERVES UP A WEEKEND LUNCH SPECIAL
Gerard’s is making a case for long lunching with a $45 set menu, available Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 3pm. Built around their signature wood-fired flavours of the Levant, each weekly menu includes freshly baked bread, dip, salad and a charcoal-grilled meat course, plus a choice of drink.
GERRIES MAKE TUESDAYS CHEAPER
Cost of living crisis, meet $2 Tuesdays. Gerries is easing the midweek spend with oysters and tacos for just $2 each, available every Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm with any drink purchase.
HELLENIKA SETS SAIL
Hellenika’s winter banquet series is off to Crete. Running from June to August, the three-part dinner series will spotlight a different region of Greece each month, beginning with a warming Cretan banquet of dip and pita, saganaki, spanner crab kritharaki, daily fish and galaktoboureko. Available for dinner Monday to Thursday, with Douloufakis wines poured by the glass or carafe.
JOCELYN’S PROVISIONS WARM WINTER UP
Jocelyn’s Provisions knows exactly what winter calls for, and it comes in the form of a spiced apple and caramel pie inspired by the equally as iconic Baker Bleu. Cooked up as part of their ongoing 30th birthday celebrations, you can grab this limited-edition creation exclusively from Friday 12 June to Sunday 14 June or unless sold out prior.
