We often encounter art in its final form; finished, framed and already on display.

What is less visible is the life of the work before that point: the thinking, testing, revising and evolving that happens long before an artwork reaches the gallery wall.

From now until Thursday 25 June, Studio Gallery invites audiences into that space, going behind the scenes with Evolve, a major group exhibition bringing together its full roster of represented artists across five gallery locations around Australia.

Spanning painting, sculpture and mixed media, the exhibition looks not only at the finished work, but at the creative worlds behind it. Throughout the gallery, QR-linked artist content will offer access to studio tours, process footage and direct-to-camera reflections, giving visitors a closer look at how each artist works, thinks and evolves over time.
