One night. Five courses. A seat inside one of James St’s most celebrated dining rooms.
For the first time this July, Gourmet Traveller brings its Reader Dinner to Sushi Room, hosted in partnership with The Calile Hotel and James St Food + Wine Trail.
Taking place on Friday 24 July, the evening will see Gourmet Traveller Editor David Meagher host guests for a five-course dinner shaped by Sushi Room Head Chef Shimpei Raikuni’s approach to Japanese tradition, seasonality and exacting technique. Each course will be paired with wine or sake, selected to move with the menu from first pour to final plate.
Conversation will form part of the evening, too. Between courses, Meagher will be joined by Raikuni for a discussion on food, hospitality, dining culture and the ideas that influence Sushi Room’s menu and service.
It’s a dinner for readers, diners and anyone who believes a good meal should leave you with something to talk about.
