Have you heard? Artist and former Sneaky Sound System frontman, Daimon Downey is presenting a solo exhibition entitled Walls of windows to the Kings of colour from Thursday 26 until Saturday 28 April at Shop 2/ 19 James St (in between Camilla and Zimmermann).
A compilation of 35 paintings, sculptures and ceramics, each piece was created at Daimon’s Bondi Beach studio – the theme? Ones search for balance in form and colour. Acknowledging that the world is becoming a strange and confusing place, Daimon wants viewers to feel free of fear and shock with his art. To achieve such a reaction, each work is internalised, with the shapes and colours producing balanced compositions which are playful, engaging and a little bit mysterious. Playing on this mystery, each work’s title has no exact connection to the art – encouraging viewers to find their relevance to each piece.
To celebrate Daimon’s exhibition on James St, you’re invited to the official opening from 6PM on Thursday 26 April – no bookings required, all are welcome.
