Ward A Squires is a printmaker, multi media artist and lighting designer, who is hosting his first ever pop-up shop on James St until Monday 4 December.
In 1996 he invented a made-up consumer brand called bevron. The hybrid name is derived from Breville (appliances) & AVON (cosmetics). Today bevron makes fun of consumerism, advertising, current affairs and materialistic drive in society.
Recently selected for BIGSOUND as an artist, he combined analogue & digital formats for a 3-storey animated projection. Ward also creates large format works on film that makes reference to the commercial world and its tactics in a humorous way that sometimes can be seen seriously, but seldom.
d i s p o s e is his latest body of work which can be viewed during the following times:
Friday 24 November: 5PM to 7PM
Saturday 25 November: 3PM to 5PM
