The one weekend of the year where it is socially acceptable to eat chocolate at every meal is almost here and James St’s culinary creators are Easter equipped with sweets, savouries and seafood. Consider this a shopping list for all things sensational.
Friday focus: if you plan on having fresh seafood on Good Friday you should plan on ordering ahead from FreshFishCo by Wednesday 5 April. Oysters with a mignonette sauce? Please! Whole snapper on the Webber? It would be rude not to. A prawn cocktail served in thick 80’s glassware? Why not! You get the gist of it, seafood makes any meal a better meal, so level up this Easter.
By name and nature, baked goods are good. In the case of Jocelyn’s Provisions baked goods are great – particularly around Easter when they bake hot cross buns, shortbread bunnies, sugar cookies in the shape of pretty little eggs and much more. In other good news, you can pre-order Easter essentials, so long as you hop into store prior to Tuesday 4 April at 1:00pm.
Fresh out of the oven it’s suns out buns out at The Green with their limited edition hot cross buns. Go for a bun, stay for some fun! The Green are open breakfast and lunch Saturday, Sunday and Monday over the break.
Fact: we go nuts over the chocolate offering at The Nut Market and with an abundance of milk, dark and white chocolate the Easter bunny must shop here too. Gluten-free, lactose-free and guilt-free options are all available in varying shapes and sizes. Pro tip: beat the bunny to it – a selection this good will sell out.
Breathe a sigh of relief, your favourite grocer – The Standard Market Co – will be open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Fresh fruit and vegetables, gourmet pantry goods, deli delights and premium meats will be readily available each and every day.
