September brings all things sensational in the world of scents, cultural conversations and edible news too. Read what’s install below.
Fly your nose to a new city
Le Labo is taking your senses on a trip around the world with their city specific fragrances which are (usually) only available to purchase at city specific stores – they are their City Exclusives. Once a year, these global scents are available in any store around the world. That time is now, so for a scent dedicated to the city of Berlin (it’s new), Tokyo, Miami, Amsterdam, or more be sure to visit in September.
Calile Culture
Culture and Calile go hand in hand, so their new thought-provoking program entitled Calile Culture is aptly titled. Read all about the series and while on the reading topic, one must mention that their first cultural event will welcome an in-conversation with Author and Miles Franklin Prize winner Anna Funder on Monday 18 September. Anna will be discussing her new work Wifedom, described as “simply a masterpiece” by Geraldine Brooks. Learn more and secure tickets (and a book) here.
Good things come in threes
The Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids and west elm trio are uniting for a house party on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September from 9:30am – 5:00pm – they share a roof after all. Here’s what’s on the schedule:
- Pottery Barn: is teaming up with The Local Flower Market to present Spring Tablescapes. Sounds fresh and floral, and that’s because it is. Flowers will be available to purchase to replicate the styling in your own home.
- Pottery Barn Kids: calling out baby Bill Granger’s! Come on down for a Tea and Trains party where aprons will be monogrammed and freshly baked goods by 13 Bee’s Bakery will be available shop-in-shop style.
- west elm: here it is all about the Perfect Planters. If like many, you have a love /hate relationship with indoor plants this workshop really is for you. That is all.
Project. complete
Project. are out with the old and in with the new thanks to their recent renovation. Streetwear is still their jam, but owner Ethan Kostromin has added some tasty flair with vintage collectables being replaced with renowned global brands – Danish brand, Norse Projects included (get it gents). T-shirts, pants, hats and shoes are all included in the new Project. store which is located in the same great spot next to Sixes And Sevens – shop, get a cold one and you’re good to go.
We’ll eat to that
Yes, we shamelessly boast about having the best restaurants in town but it’s for good reason. Gourmet Traveller have confirmed what we already know – that some of the tastiest venues in Queensland reside right here on our doorstep. Essa, Hellenika and sAme sAme scored top 15 restaurant status in the sunshine state and we are as proud as punch.
