A Culinary Experience

Private Dining Rooms on James St

Private dining rooms offer an intimate culinary experience like no other. A space fitting for birthday soirees, Christmas parties, intimate wedding celebrations and corporate luncheons.

These secluded rooms offer a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of their adjoining restaurants and allow the atmosphere of the group to takeover… We’re big fans of private event spaces and James St plays home to four separate dining rooms and cabanas.

With your next event in mind, we’ve deduced what’s extra special about each mini venue:

sAme sAme

Looking up to The Calile and out onto Ada Lane, the sAme sAme private dining terrace offers a secluded space separate from the bustling downstairs restaurant and neighbouring LOS bar. Designed by architects Richards and Spence, the terrace can accommodate groups of up to 30 people. On the menu is the sAme sAme banquet menu which features a selection of the restaurants most popular dishes and an option to pair wines, because wine not!

Gerard’s Bistro

Hidden behind the tiled mosaic wall within Gerard’s Bistro is their private dining room, where a rotating Middle Eastern-inspired menu by Executive Chef, Adam Wolfer’s is served alongside an impressive wine menu. Seating up to 16 guests, the dining room has AV capabilities fit for all occasions – a recipe for a good (or informative) time.

CRU Bar + Cellar

Surrounded by some of the country’s and world’s most awarded wines, the CRU Bar + Cellar private dining room is fit for any epicurean party. With options for both formal dining or cocktails and canapés, Executive Chef Richard Ousby has designed a menu for each that will excite all guests (and dietary requirements). The cellar has AV capabilities for presentations that will be sure to make a lasting impression or at least the exquisite wine surrounding the dining table will… Chin-chin!

Harveys Bar + Bistro

Experience private dining the Harveys Bar + Bistro way – in a garden terrace no less. Adjacent to the outdoor pavilion and indoor dining room, the garden terrace is the perfect mix of the two. An enclosed space, with large bi-fold windows, to bring the outdoors in, the dining room can be secluded upon request with the option to draw the soft billowing curtains. Available for large group bookings for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Head Chef and Owner PJ McMillan will work with the host to design a unique menu for the occasion. Psst… Champagne Magnums are known to make an appearance.

Hellenika

Overlooking the azure pool at The CalleHellenika’s private dining room has a difference… It’s a cabana x7! During the day, two private cabanas are available for lunch and by night, seven secluded poolside cabanas are on offer.  Each seat from six to ten diners, with a large table in the centre and booth-style seating surrounding. The cabanas are semi-private booths, with curtains that can be drawn at the sides, giving you that “I could be anywhere” feeling. Like all private dining spaces, reservations are key.
