Mitchell Fine Art presents Monochrome, an exhibition exploring the enduring theme of black and white.

Showing from Wednesday 8 March until Saturday 1 April, this exhibition showcases artworks from a range of contemporary and Aboriginal artists who utilise the classic black and white tonal effect.

The colour palette of each artwork remains consistent throughout the exhibition however the techniques and materials applied vary among each artists work – acyclic on linen, etching on paper, paper laid on canvas and pencil drawings are just some of the design components present in the featured work.

Artists featured include established Aborignal painters, Lily Kelly Napandgardi, Abie Loy Kemarre Mirra, Ronnie Tjampitjinpa and up and coming artists, Mirra Whale and Deirdre Bean to name just a few.

Coinciding with exhibition is a panel discussion with industry experts, Claire Stevens and Carolyn McLean on Thursday 9 March from 6 – 8pm. Stevens is a Brisbane based interior designer who will be sharing her styling recommendations for artwork within the home. Fellow panellist McLean is an architect who will discuss the importance of connecting interior design with architecture.

This event is open to the public and is the ideal discussion to attend if you’re planning on purchasing a piece for your home, office or as a gift.
